Update your knowledge on lipid lowering therapies, helping to contribute towards the management of cholesterol for patients, supporting reduction in CVD events and mortality.
By the end of the session, you will have improved knowledge regarding:
- lipid-lowering therapies
- novel medicines used to lower cholesterol and reduce residual risk
- treatment targets for cholesterol (use of non-HDL, not total cholesterol and 2.6 mmol/L) for secondary prevention
- national and local guidance (Northern England Evaluation Lipid Intensification or NEELI and Secondary Prevention Treatment Pathway)
- how to have good conversations to tackle statin hesitancy
There will be an opportunity (30 minutes) for peer review to fulfil registration requirements.
The event will be chaired by Jane Carruthers, Senior Medicines Optimisation Pharmacist, NECS.

This event is aimed at community pharmacists, PCN pharmacists and pharmacy technicians and primary care pharmacy teams.
