Expressions of interest – pilot programme to increase capacity with remote monitoring technology
Funding is available for 20 practices in the North East and North Cumbria to participate in the second phase of a regional pilot designed to enhance general practice capacity through remote monitoring.
In 2023-24, NHS North East and North Cumbria Integrated Care Board (NENC ICB) and Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria (HI NENC) launched a remote monitoring pilot programme. The pilot involved five early adopter practices in Gateshead and Newcastle, testing new methods for monitoring common conditions, with an aim to increase capacity, save appointments, and enhance patient safety. Read more about the programme including a full evaluation here.
With further funding, the programme is set to expand later this year, over a rapid six-month period. To join this exciting pilot, your practice should have a passion for digital innovation, a willingness to learn new things, and be ready to share your outcomes and challenge your team. To express your interest and learn more, please contact Anne Richardson by Friday 9th August 2024.
Further resources
Resources from the first phase of project have been developed, which can be implemented in practices across the region. This includes standard operating procedures for several pathways including: blood pressure monitoring, UTI, oral contraception, and more.
