2022-2023 Patient Safety Improvement Programme Project Call

The Academic Health Science Network for North East North Cumbria (AHSN NENC) is launching a project call, inviting applications from our partner organisations to bid for funding to deliver projects that contribute to the overall aim of the National Patient Safety Improvement Programmes (NatPatSIPs).

Deadline: Friday 23rd September 2022

Project Call Title: 2022-2023 Patient Safety Improvement Programme

Lead Organisation Location: Academic Health Science Network, North East North Cumbria

Value: We are looking to fund projects up to a maximum of £30,000

Overview

The AHSN NENC is commissioned by NHS England and NHS Improvement to host the Patient Safety Collaborative (PSC) for the region and deliver the NatPatSIPs.

Funding can be sought to deliver a project, with objectives that broadly align with one of the five priority Safety Improvement Programmes, or more specifically for a project that addresses one of the 2022-2023 SIP topic areas:

  • Maternity and Neonatal Safety
  • Managing Deterioration in Care Homes
  • Medicines Safety
  • System Safety
  • Mental Health, Learning Disability & Autism Safety

2022-2023 NatPatSIP

Each of these SIPs are supported by a dedicated lead from the AHSN PSC team, who works with regional NHS and Social Care partners to define and deliver the programme.

Criteria

We invite projects proposals up to a value of £30,000 that can be delivered within a 12-month period. Any approach that is aligned to supporting one of the five priority areas will be considered.

Project proposals should be developed in consultation with the relevant AHSN SIP lead, who supports the SIP to which the proposal relates. This individual will also help with delivery of the project.

Successful projects will be expected to provide a quarterly interim report, describing activity and progress against the milestones, defined in the original application.

Accountable to: Patient Safety Lead and Chief Operating Officer, AHSN NENC

Please submit your proposal by completing the Application Form, summarising:

  • the project proposal and how it aligns to one of the NatPatSIP priority areas
  • milestones & outputs
  • how the funding will be used
  • how the project supports system-wide working

You must involve the relevant AHSN SIP lead in developing your proposal as they are required to support its submission.
