Child Parent Screening Programme Briefing Meeting

This is a national briefing meeting for the exciting Child Parent Screening for Inherited High Cholesterol Service which aims to share best practice and experiences of HCPs already engaged in the service, as well as inform those who may be interested in taking part, and answer any questions during interactive sessions.

The aim of the Child Parent Screening Programme is to identify families with Familial Hypercholesterolaemia in Primary Care to prevent inherited heart disease .

Professor Julia Newton, Medical Director AHSN NENC, will update on the logistics, metrics, recruitment and evaluation for the programme and we will have a GP and nurse who are currently taking part in the service sharing their experiences to date as well as opportunities for questions and interaction.

Rebecca McKenzie, whose child was detected in a previous programme as having FH, will share her own experiences and the subsequent consequences for the whole family.
