This event has now passed. The following presentation was delivered at the meeting by Dave Saunders, Anaesthetist at NuTH:
The aim of the meeting is to bring together the regional Emergency Laparotomy Surgical, Anaesthetic and Audit leads to discuss how we can deliver a regional pathway and to facilitate information sharing amongst all the Trusts in the North East and North Cumbria (NENC) region. The project aims to focus on the development of a regional laparotomy pathway for the NENC with the aim of improving outcomes. This pathway will include evidence-based interventions similar to the ELpQuip study and aims to standardise care and improve outcomes in this important group of patients.
