The aim of this event is to bring together the Health and Life Science Infrastructure from the Cumbria region to celebrate the Health and Life Science Pledge.
Come along to learn more about the Health and Life Science Pledge, we will be awarding new pledgees with certificates, to allow the health and life science infrastructure Cumbria to network and get to know each other.
Everyone is welcome.
What is the Health and Life Science Pledge
The Health and Life Science Pledge has been co-created following on from significant engagement and feedback with regional stakeholders. The purpose of the Health and Life Science Pledge is to bring together the Health and Life Science infrastructure in the NENC to enable Health and Social Care Innovation to grow, accelerate and ultimately flourish. As part of this launch event, we are inviting all key stakeholders involved in the health and care ecosystem to join us, by coming together behind a common purpose to better Communicate, Collaborate and Celebrate™.
Our joint commitment through the ICB NENC and AHSN NENC is to encourage, enable and empower us all to support the North East and North Cumbria region with the following:
- Support the reduction of health inequalities.
- To improve and increase investment.
- Promote economic growth to become recognised as an exemplar / Centre of Excellence for Health and Social Care Innovation.

Directions
Durdar Road, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA2 4TS
Carlisle Racecourse is located just off the M6 (Junction 42) and is only a few miles from Carlisle City Centre.
From the North and South
Leave M6 at junction 42, follow signs for Dalston. Follow the road for approx 2 miles until you reach a staggered junction and turn right. The racecourse is approximately 1 mile on the left hand side.
From the east
Take A69 or A66 to M6 motorway. Join the M6 and leave at junction 42 and follow directions above.
From the west
Travel along the A595 following signs for Carlisle. Continue along this road and take the 3rd exit at the next roundabout. Follow the road past the Garden Centre and turn left at the junction. Follow this road and at T-junction in Dalston turn right. Follow road until you reach Bridge End pub. Turn left over the bridge and follow signs for Durdar. When you reach the next junction, turn left. The racecourse is approximately a mile on the left hand side.
