Main Target Audience – NHS Suppliers / Innovators / NHS Trusts / NHS Providers / Integrated Care BoardsIn this session you will find out why investment in nature is beneficial to people’s health and wellbeing, homes and business, boosting local economies and how it can play a key role in achieving net zero targets. We will also look at Carbon offsetting and removal, what it is, how to ensure your business invests in credible schemes and why this can support your carbon reduction plans.

Nature-based climate solutions are nature-based processes which have the potential to remove carbon from the atmosphere and store it for a long time… Despite their potential to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs), Nature-based climate solutions are not being created, monitored and protected in sufficient volumes. Restoration and improved management of natural habitats can enhance their carbon sequestration potential. Investing in the restoration of natural habitats can be expected to deliver further benefits in terms of creating jobs and economic output, helping to meet commitments for biodiversity, and delivering vital ecosystem services for people and businesses.
