Reducing Nitrous Oxide waste across the NHS
16/11/2022 2:00 pm to 16/11/2022 3:00 pm
Event Details
Nitrous oxide is a potent greenhouse gas and ozone depleting substance and is widely used within the NHS. Emissions from nitrous oxide at NHS sites in England totalled approximately 242 kilotonnes of carbon dioxide (ktCO2e) – equivalent to 1.1 billion miles driven in an average petrol car, or 65,000 homes powered for a year.
Waste elimination methods could reduce this by around a third. Tackling this waste will contribute to a healthier planet, improve lives and improve health; and is in line with NHS NetZero plans.
In this webinar you will hear from key speakers on how they have managed to reduce Nitrous Oxide waste using easy to implement methods; along with new resources and data available to Trusts from the Greener NHS team.
