Secure Data Environment (SNSDE) Advocate

Health Innovation North East North Cumbria (HI NENC) is seeking to appoint new SNSDE Advocates to join the SNSDE Programme in the North East and North Cumbia (NENC) region. This role is hosted by HI NENC on behalf of the NENC Secure Data Environment Programme.

Overview of the role

The North East and North Cumbria Secure Data Environment (NENC SDE) is one of 11 regional programmes that is part of an NHS England national programme which aims to improve access to health and care data for research and development.

This major improvement programme provides an opportunity to create more effective, efficient and timely health innovations, driving better health outcomes for the population.

Advocates will be anyone with a role in health care who can work with their peer networks and organisations to drive the change required to make the SDE a success. For example, you may be a medical or clinical professional, practice manager, nurse, AHP, a public health or social care professional.

Key Details

Job Title: SDE Advocate

Remuneration: A sessional rate depending on your specialism and areas of expertise.

Hours of Work: Flexible based on scheduled “one off” meetings, with notice in advance.

Contract Type and Duration: Sessional work until March 2025.

Place of Work: Meetings across the NENC region, as well as online meetings.

Base Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Responsible to: SNSDE Clinical Academic Lead

Introduction

Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria (HI NENC) is one of the fifteen Health Innovation Networks set up with the aim of spreading innovation at pace and scale across the healthcare system, in order to achieve the ultimate goals of improving health and generating economic growth.  Health Innovation NENC supports several different Work Programmes including Digital, Economic Growth, Health Improvement and the Patient Safety Collaborative, all of which encompass a range of innovative and high impact projects.

Health Innovation NENC is a membership-based organisation that provides technology transfer services to its Member Organisations, which include local Foundation Trusts, Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) and local universities.  As part of the services that we provide to our Member Organisations, we support the identification, harvesting, protection, commercialisation, adoption, and dissemination of healthcare innovation originating from within their organisations.

Health Innovation NENC is predominately funded by NHS England and NHS Improvement, The Office for Life Sciences and its regional Member Organisations.
